MWDVCAS provide:
- A safe room at Court
- Information and advice for Women before attending court
- Ensure that Women have free legal representation if they want it
We will:
- Go to Court with Women and support them through the Court process
- Ensure that Women have free legal representation if they want it (subject to conflict check).
- Liaise with Police, Police Prosecutors and Solicitors on behalf of Women to facilitate the best outcome
- Advocate for Women to ensure that Apprehended Violence Orders are tailored to meet their needs
- Refer Women to services which can assist them with their own needs, such as housing or counselling
- Provide a follow-up service after court
- Advocate publicly and politically around issues of violence against Women to maintain a public profile
- Provide training and education when requested
